"But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God." (Acts 20:24)

My wife and I were Born of God in 1997. We were both drug addicts that God saved and delivered from sin, including addiction, through His Son Jesus Christ. (To read a brief account of our testimony click here: Testimony.) Shortly after my conversion I was praying to the Lord one night asking Him about what He wanted me to do with my life. Now I’m not one to run after dreams nor do I have dreams often that I would say are from the Lord.. but the Lord answered me that night in a dream. My dream was a clear word from the Lord that He would be sending me to preach the Gospel to Muslims. (you can read about the dream here). I knew this was from the Lord and was amazed because I didn’t really know much about Muslim’s and the Islamic faith. God began to birth a burden in me to see Him Glorified by the Lord Jesus Christ being preached to those deceived and held in bondage to Islam. Over the years I’ve seen God direct my steps and leading me to this very end that He seems to have chosen for my life. While I’ve preached to Muslims in my own city, as well in other countries, the Lord seemed to really move me into this calling last October.
In October of 2007 myself and a brother named Josef Urban went to London to preach the Gospel outside of some of the Mosques during the month or Ramadan. (You can read a full account of the London trip here: London Trip Report). It was an amazing time and the Gospel of Jesus Christ was proclaimed by the Spirit of God to many Muslims. By the Grace of God we preached outside of the London Central Mosque, inside the Mosque, and in Muslims neighborhoods. It was a real test of faith but like Jeremiah the prophet there was a God given fire in my bones to proclaim the word of God – the truth of salvation ONLY in Jesus Christ- and for the Lord to be Glorified in it. It was a wonderful time and we truly saw the grace of God with us while we were there.
Before I went on the trip the Lord had given my wife a dream (now she does get quite a few dreams from the Lord) that when I returned from the trip the Lord would release me to preach full time. And.. He did just that! The first day I got home I was let go from my job without any prior warning this would happen. Though many I knew were surprise at my being let go, inwardly I was rejoicing because I knew God was behind it. We had also had our house on the market for a couple months and as soon as I returned from the trip the Lord brought a couple who wanted to purchase our home. This happened just days after I was let go. So the Lord had been faithful to bring about what He had shown Lisa in her dream.
Unsure of where God was leading us we started praying. The Lord then led us to move down to Mexico and spend some time preaching with Josef and his wife who had recently moved there to preach themselves. It seemed odd to us as first because we never have desired to go there and it didn’t seem like it fit in with what God had been doing in our lives until then. But, we were sure He was sending us so we moved the family to Mexico to preach with Josef and his wife. God confirmed that we would be there around six months but didn’t let us know what would be next. We at first assumed maybe we would be going deeper into Mexico to preach but God had other plans. While being in Mexico, without looking, the Lord has opened the door for us to go to the other side of the world and preach to Muslims residing in the 10/40 window. This is one of the least evangelized places in the world and it’s probably due to the fact that it’s predominantly Muslim. But Praise God, the grace of God in the Gospel message can change the heart of a Muslim just as easily as it can change anyone else’s. So we look forward to going forth scattering the seed of God’s word, watching God give it the increase, and seeing new brothers and sisters lifting up holy hands in praise to our Great God and King - Jesus Christ!
If you’re a disciple of the Lord Jesus and find it your heart and spirit to do so, please keep us in prayer that the Gospel may go forth as it should brining Glory to God. He alone is worthy and may He alone be Glorified!
"For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord,
and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake."
(2 Cor 4:5)
IN Christ,
